These days Dengue fever is once again in news. After rainy season, every year before the winter starts, dengue fever grows rapidly. This year also after the end of rainy season, dengue fever is reaching to its peak all over the country. According to different news media; 

-> Dengue cases are rapidly increasing in Uttar Pradesh, especially in capital city Lucknow. 

 -> In Bihar, cases of dengue fever reaches to its stream level of 8000 cases. Bihar is on alert for dengue fiver.

-> According to news channels, this year dengue fever cases are highest of last 7 years.

-> Also in Chattisgarh, 49 cases are alone found in the capital city Raipur.

So let's discuss some important facts about Dengue fever, it's natural remedies and preventions should be taken.

Dengue fever is a mosquito borne illness that occurs in tropical and subtropical areas of the world.

             Mild dengue fever causes a high fever and flu like symptoms. The severe form of dengue fever also called Dengue hamorrhagic fever, can cause serious bleeding a sudden drop in blood pressure and death.

Symptoms

There is no any certain symptom for dengue and it may be symptomless. That's why many people experience no signs or symptoms of dengue. Generally if simptoms occur, it may be mistaken for other illnesses such as the flu; and usually begin 4 to 10 days after the mosquito bite.

            Dengue fever causes a high fever along with any of the following symptoms:     (a.) Headache

          In Dengue, platelet count in the blood stream falls badly and it leads to internal bleeding, organ failure and even death; as platelet is responsible for blood clotting.                 Signs of severe dengue fever can develop quickly. Generally, the warning signs usually begins the first or second day after the fever goes away. General symptoms are : 

 (a.) Persistent vomiting 

 (b.) Bleeding from nose and gums

 (c.) Bleeding under the skin which might                look like bruising

Causes

There are four types of dengue viruses. These viruses got spread through mosquito bites. When a mosquito bites a person infected with Dengue virus, the virus enters the mosquito body.dengue Then, when the infected mosquito bites another person the virus enters that persons blood stream and causes and infection of dengue fever.

Treatment

No any specific medication or treatment is available for dengue fever. Only symptomatic treatment like paracetamol for fever and other medications for platelet counts are available yet. According to World Health Organisation, preventing mosquito bites and controlling the mosquito population are the main methods for preventing the spread of dengue fever. 

Best way to prevent from dengue fever are :  

(a.) Stay in air conditioned or well screen               housing

 (b.) Wear protective clothing 

(c.) Use mosquito repellent 

(d.) Reduce mosquito habitat

Some home remedies and treatments for Dengue Fever

Main home remedies which can be continued at home are :

(a.) Drink plenty of water

Drink plenty of water and fluid to keep your body hydrated during dengue fever.

(b.) Drink Coconut Water

Coconut water is a good resource of electrolytes needed for the body. Take 1 to 2 coconut water a day to keep your body hydrated and electrolyted.

(c.) Papaya leaf extract

Papaya leaf extract is very effective in the maintenance of platelet count. For using it, choose a new papaya leaf, wash it thoroughly and grind it in grinder. And get its extract. Drink the juice in small amount.

(d.) Guduchi

Guduchi is also very effective herb in the treatment of dengue fever. Guduchi is known to boost the immune of our body. Guduchi can be drinked daily to help with the symptoms of dengue fever. Guduchi juice is made by blending freshly chopped guduchi with a glass of water. Strain the blended mixture to remove any solids and the Guduchi juice is ready. Take this juice twice daily.

(e.) Mixture of neem and tulsi

A kadha made off neem leaf extract guduchi pieces and Tulsi leaves along with small amount of desi jaggery and black pepper is very effective in all type of fever and infections especially in dengue. Use this preparation twice daily to keep yourself prevented of dengue fever.
